Revenue Share For Web Site Content Providers, Does it Work?
Filed Under Social Networking | Leave a Comment
A growing web site needs content to thrive and survive, but getting such content added is both time consuming and costly if you try the DIY approach.
This article looks at a recent innovation in web content building that offers webmasters both income and traffic building opportunities.
Many web sites poach content from other sites and run the risk of copyright issues, and in turn do little but create a near clone of the site they obtained content from.
One way to grow a web site with content is to place advertisements relative to the content theme and share that revenue with the contributor usually 50/50 – called “revenue share” it’s a simple but efficient process.
Contributors can add their own content from web sites they run relative to the theme of the site, or simply write a summary of existing content which is linked to the site. Each item of content has to link UNIQUELY to a web page so there is little danger of duplicating content and the linked web site should have no concerns to have its content promoted.
Sites vary as to immediate posting of new content to requiring moderators approval. Clearly the latter option will ensure contributors submit only content to suit the theme of the site – e.g. motoring, property, money saving tips etc.
With hundreds, or potentially thousands of contributing webmasters adding content can quickly grow a site and become well known thanks to the vast amount of content pages and the opportunity for the site to be regularly indexed by search engines.
The only downside is adding content clearly has to be first come first served, so webmasters are well advised to check for existing content before wasting time just to duplicate content in the hope of earning a quick buck for a few minutes work.
Revenue share seems on the surface to be capable of creating long term income for the contributors, the more they add and the better and more relevant the quality, the greater return for the webmaster.
