   i got my pc in 2003… it has had alot of viruses on it before. but i used search and destroy it got some of them off… but my computer still freezes from time to time. any ideas how i can speed it up?
   or do i need a new cpu

   Hi, I have a weird problem. When I start my pc I see the windows xp logo like usual, but it takes so much more time than before. Then after the logo startup I get a black screen for 10-15sec then I finally can see my desktop but it still has to load for 10-20sec. I tried everything, defrag, spybot, CCleaner, increase the paging file, virusscan, etc. I don’t know what to do anymore and I don’t want to format windows xp again. Could you help me with that issue? Thx in advance.

   Oh, and if you’ve got a virus or spyware/malware, Spyware Doctor and Kaspersky A/V are usually very good. Spybot search and destroy is also very good and is completely free.

   That covers it, and if your PC is still slow then it’s just slow, buy a faster CPU, or faster hard drives/storage devices and maybe even start overclocking or just reinstall your OS if it was nice and fast before you started installing random shit.

   Completely unnecessary, in my opinion anyways.

   All you need to speed up your PC are the following:
   Use JkDefrag GUI or some other defragmentation program.

   JkDefrag GUI also has options to clean the registry, you can also get registry cleaners just be careful, I recommend CCleaner as well.

   Now that we’ve covered fragmentation and registry which is 90% of it, theres 2 more things you can do.

   Increase your paging file size, initial and max the same.
   and…
   Buy more RAM, make sure its compatible
